look at us
There was an old couple sitting in their car left of the boat ramp. They were facing the sun and seemed to be enjoying the beautiful day.
On my way to the docks I passed in front of them and we exchanged a little smile.
A few minutes passed and I look over in their direction. Ole boy is out of the car and shuffling his feet while taking his lap around the parking lot.
He stopped a few times, but you could see his grit as he fired it up again.
His wife (I assume) stayed close to him, but "tough guy" was doing his own thing. After a lap they settled back in the car.
I looked over a few times, and I think maybe they watched me for a minute too.
After putting my gear away and throwing my backpack on, I walked by them again.
We exchanged waves and another smile, this time a little bigger.
Before I got in the Jeep, I took this picture.
It's simple things like this that remind me how much good there is in the world.
It's hard to see it sometimes and I think that's okay. Everyone's struggling in one way or another right now and there are days I really want to bury my head.
So I do. Then I come back. Like this ole feller.
I just felt this story needed to be shared. ❤
